Just tap on display to select temperature of water that one would like the kettle to boil to. Leave it and the boiling starts. One then sees a repetitive display that indicates the boiling process is underway. Kettle doubles up as thermos flask to store the hot water. No smell in the kettle even when new. Downside is that the kettle is a little heavy. Adds weight to luggage. Useful to have pouch for storing/protecting the kettle, especially during travels. Sponge presumably for cleaning the kettle was given. Not sure if it was a free gift or part of the set. Speedy delivery. Very good value for money overall.

Bought another brand prior to this and returned it upon testing due to unsatisfactory performance. So glad to find this one with bigger water capacity (enough to cook cup noodles) and it has various temperature modes for drinking warm water or making coffee / cooking noodles. Brought it with me for various trips so far. Would highly recommend.
